Achievements

In his insatiable pursuit of excellence, Akwasi Frimpong has participated in a number of local and international sports events and has built a record-breaking running resume that is indicative of his desire for achieving extraordinary results every single time.

Akwasi’s passion for running ignited in 2001 when a friend showed him a medal. The 15-year old Akwasi felt an unsettling desire to know what it was like to win, and it was the same unquenchable desire that made him a student of Sammy Monsels, a former Olympian. After two years of consistent hard work, Akwasi achieved his first career breakthrough when he became the Dutch National Junior Champion in the 200 meter sprints and earned the nickname ‘GoldenSprint’.

Then 17 years old Akwasi has now become one of the most renowned athletes. His career has evolved at the same pace as his desire to represent his country in the Winter Olympics 2018.
